Burning River N Society

The Burning River N Society (BRNS) is an N scale model train club that is dedicated to bringing the hobby to the public. We are an active club that sets up layouts at various train shows, local events, and civic locations to educate the public and demonstrate our love of the hobby.  BRNS uses the NTRAK standards for model railroading on our large layouts and the T-Trak standards for modeling our smaller T-Trak layouts. We also have non-standard layouts that are designed for our local needs.

N scale is a popular model railroading scale that offers a perfect balance between detail and space efficiency. With a ratio of 1:160, it means that one real-life foot is represented by 160 feet on the model. This smaller size allows hobbyists to create expansive and intricate layouts even in limited spaces. NTRAK and T-TRAK: Modular Model Railroading Systems

NTRAK and T-TRAK are popular modular model railroading standards that allow hobbyists to create and display their layouts in a flexible, interconnected format.

  • NTRAK: Standardized 4’ long modules in N scale (1:160) that promote realism and expansive layouts, ideal for large exhibitions.
  • T-TRAK: Smaller, portable modules (typically 2’x1’ or 1’x1’) in N scale that are easy to transport and set up, perfect for smaller events and home layouts.
